This decision was made in a meeting conducted by the Federal Ministry of Education with the Honourable Commissioners of Education of the 36 states, the Nigerian Union of Teachers, (NUT), the proprietors of private schools, and Chief Executives of examination bodies in a virtual meeting.

They agreed that the students should resume immediately after the Sallah break on Friday, because it is very important for them to prepare for the WAEC examinations starting on the 17th of August. The joint body also pleased with the Federal Government to ensure that all precautions are taken ahead of the resumption.

The Federal Ministry of Education would be meeting again tomorrow 28th of July but this time it would be with the Chief Executives of examination bodies like NECO, NABTEB and NBAIS. This is to ensure a well scheduled dates for all examinations before the government announces to all Stakeholders.
