Nigeria has achieved a groundbreaking medical milestone, recording West Africa’s first tele-robotic surgery after surgeons remotely performed a complex kidney operation on a patient in Abuja.
The historic procedure was carried out on Saturday at the Redeemer’s Health Village (RHV), in collaboration with RoboMed Global and Nisa Premier Hospital. The surgery was conducted in real time, with specialists operating remotely using advanced robotic technology to ensure precision and safety.
This achievement marks a significant leap forward for Nigeria’s healthcare sector, showcasing the potential of technology to expand access to specialized medical care.
