Tinubu Honored: Lifetime African Achievement Award Celebrates His Legacy

President Bola Tinubu has been awarded the prestigious Lifetime African Achievement Award by Ghana’s Millennium Excellence Foundation, recognizing his enduring impact on governance and African development. The event, held in Kumasi, Ghana, marked the 25th anniversary of the Millennium Excellence Prize, an institution that celebrates leadership, integrity, and service.

Although Tinubu was unable to attend in person, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, received the award on his behalf. In his speech, Tinubu praised the foundation’s commitment to honoring Africa’s brightest minds, referencing past awardees like Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Prof. Wole Soyinka, President Cyril Ramaphosa, and Dr. Mo Ibrahim.

Emphasizing the importance of unity, innovation, and youth empowerment, Tinubu called on young Africans to rise with courage and invest in science, technology, governance, and entrepreneurship. He encouraged deeper collaborations across the continent, stressing that Africa’s future relies on shared commitment and leadership rooted in service.

Other notable awardees included Dr. Benedict Oramah, President of the African Export-Import Bank (AFREXIM), Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State, and business mogul Alhaji AbdulSamad Rabiu, founder of BUA Group. Their recognition underscores Africa’s ongoing strides in governance, commerce, and regional trade.

With this latest accolade, Tinubu’s leadership legacy continues to grow, raising the question: What’s next for Africa’s future under his guidance?
