Makinde emphasized that Queen Naomi, the estranged wife of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and Oriyomi Hamzat, a prominent media personality, among others, must face the full extent of the law for their involvement in organizing the event that led to the stampede.
In a statement, the governor expressed his deepest condolences to the victims and their families, noting that such incidents could have been prevented with better planning and crowd control measures. He promised that the government would provide all necessary support to the affected families.
