Gunmen have launched separate deadly attacks in Plateau and Benue states, leaving four people dead and reigniting concerns over the persistent insecurity in Nigeria’s Middle Belt region. In Plateau State, the attackers struck a community in Mangu Local Government Area, while the assault in Benue took place in Gwer West Local Government Area. These incidents form part of a troubling pattern of violence that continues to plague the region, often fueled by ethnic and communal tensions.
