In a tragic incident, Alhaji Rilwan Yahaya Pate, a member of the Zazzau Emirate Council in Kaduna State, slumped and died while attending an event in Zaria Local Government Area. The deceased, who was the ‘Sarkin Yakin Zazzau’ and in charge of health matters in the council, was attending the event alongside the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Nuhu Bamalli, when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Alhaji Pate was immediately rushed to the Gambo Sawaba General Hospital in Zaria, where he was confirmed dead. The Zazzau Emirate Council expressed deep sorrow over his passing, describing it as a significant loss. In a statement issued by the council’s media and publicity officer, Abdullahi Kwarbai, the council highlighted Alhaji Pate’s dedication, hard work, and religious commitment, noting that his absence would be deeply felt.
Emir Bamalli extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, acknowledging the death as the will of Allah. He praised Alhaji Pate for his contributions to the council and the community, emphasizing that his legacy would not be easily replaced.
The late Alhaji Pate has been buried in accordance with Islamic injunctions, and the community continues to mourn the loss of a respected leader.
