Trump Open to Elon Musk Buying TikTok Amid Potential US Ban.

President Donald Trump has expressed openness to the possibility of Elon Musk purchasing the social media platform TikTok, which is currently facing a potential ban in the United States due to national security concerns. In a recent statement, Trump indicated that if Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is interested in acquiring TikTok, he would support such a move.

This development follows an executive order signed by President Trump, granting TikTok a 75-day extension to find a U.S. buyer to prevent the ban. The administration has raised concerns over TikTok’s Chinese ownership, citing potential risks to user data and national security. By encouraging a sale to an American company, the administration aims to mitigate these risks.

In addition to Musk, President Trump has mentioned Larry Ellison, Chairman of Oracle Corporation, as another potential buyer for TikTok. Both Musk and Ellison have previously shown interest in technology ventures and have the financial capacity to undertake such an acquisition.

The situation has also attracted interest from other parties. Notably, YouTube personality Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, has been reported to join a bid to acquire TikTok’s U.S. operations. However, his representative clarified that he has not officially entered the bidding process.

As the deadline approaches, discussions and negotiations are expected to intensify among interested parties. The outcome will significantly impact TikTok’s operations in the U.S. and could set a precedent for how Chinese-owned technology companies operate within the country.
