Actress and fashion influencer Temi Otedola has revealed the reason behind her decision to take on the Ajibade name after her marriage to Nigerian singer Mr Eazi, whose real name is Oluwatosin Ajibade.
Speaking in a recent interview, Temi explained that adopting her husband’s surname was a personal choice rooted in tradition and a desire to honour her new family. According to her, the move signifies love, respect, and the beginning of a new chapter in her life.
“I wanted to carry a part of him with me. For me, taking the Ajibade name is more than just a title; it’s a commitment and a bond,” she said.
Temi, the daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, noted that while many women in her generation prefer to retain their maiden names, she was intentional about embracing her husband’s surname. She added that it does not diminish her identity but rather complements it.
