Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has announced a N5 million reward for anyone providing credible information leading to the arrest of kidnappers and armed robbers in the state. The governor made this declaration as part of intensified efforts to combat crime and ensure public safety. This development follows a series of high-profile criminal activities that have raised concerns among residents.

The reward is targeted at encouraging citizens to collaborate with law enforcement agencies by reporting suspicious individuals or activities. Soludo emphasized that the anonymity of informants would be protected to ensure their safety. “This administration is committed to making Anambra a safe place for everyone, and we need your support to achieve this,” he stated during a press briefing.
The initiative aligns with the state government’s broader strategy to address insecurity, which includes strengthening community policing, equipping security personnel, and deploying advanced surveillance systems. Soludo highlighted that the fight against crime requires a collective effort, urging traditional rulers and local leaders to mobilize their communities in support of the program.
Residents have praised the governor’s proactive approach, expressing optimism that the reward system will deter criminals and encourage vigilance. However, some have raised concerns about the implementation, calling for transparent handling of information and swift action against perpetrators. Security experts have also suggested additional measures, such as public awareness campaigns, to ensure the success of the initiative.
Governor Soludo reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on crime, warning criminals to desist or face the full weight of the law. He assured the public that every effort is being made to restore peace and stability in Anambra. With the N5 million reward as a key motivator, the state government hopes to foster stronger community collaboration and deliver justice to victims of criminal activities.
