Popular gospel singer and minister, Nathaniel Bassey, has opened up about the heartbreaking struggles he and his wife, Sarah Bassey, have faced in their marriage. Speaking during a recent session of the Hallelujah Challenge, the singer revealed that his wife suffered five miscarriages and one ectopic pregnancy over the years.
Bassey shared how he often had to lead powerful worship sessions while privately enduring emotional pain. He recalled instances where he would finish a live praise session and rush straight to the hospital to be by his wife’s side. “Sometimes, after the Hallelujah Challenge, I would go to the hospital to check on my wife. Nurses would later tell me how the presence of God filled the ward while we were praising,” he said.
Despite the painful experiences, the “Imela” crooner encouraged believers never to lose faith, noting that trials often come before testimonies. He said their story is proof that even in deep pain and unanswered prayers, God remains faithful.
