Man Calls Out Colleagues for Mourning Fashion Designer After Ignoring Him During Illness

In a heartfelt social media post, Nigerian fashion designer Quadri Yakubu called out his colleagues for their perceived hypocrisy following the death of their fellow designer, Adekunle. Yakubu expressed his frustration that while Adekunle was battling illness, many of their colleagues failed to check on him or offer support. However, after Adekunle’s passing, these same individuals closed their shops for two days to mourn him.

Yakubu shared that he had visited Adekunle several times during his illness and even provided financial support on two occasions. Despite his efforts to encourage Adekunle to stay in the city for treatment, Adekunle chose to return to his village, where he eventually passed away.

In his post, Yakubu recounted how Adekunle had lamented the lack of concern from friends and colleagues during his illness. Yakubu’s frustration was palpable as he described the sudden outpouring of grief from those who had not been there for Adekunle when he needed them most. He wrote, “Hypocrisy right? Yes, that is how most humans are, they will rather cry at your funeral than help you recover when you are sick.”

Yakubu’s message serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of supporting one another in times of need, rather than waiting until it is too late. He concluded his post with a heartfelt plea for people to take better care of themselves and each other, emphasizing that “No one really cares!” and offering his condolences for Adekunle’s soul to rest in peace.
