The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). However, the board announced that it is withholding the results of 39,834 candidates due to suspected examination malpractices.
In a press briefing held in Abuja on Friday, May 9, JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede disclosed that over 1.9 million candidates participated in the examination nationwide. He further revealed that 80 individuals are currently under investigation for various exam-related offences, with Anambra State recording the highest number of suspects at 14.
Prof. Oloyede also noted that 467 underage candidates scored above the minimum benchmark, while 50 others were found to be involved in examination fraud.
Candidates can check their UTME results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used for registration. Alternatively, results can be accessed online by visiting the JAMB result portal at https://www.jamb.gov.ng, logging in with registration details, and clicking on “Check UTME Results.”
JAMB emphasized its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process and ensuring that all cases of malpractice are thoroughly investigated and addressed.
