Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has issued a strong rebuttal to Tanzanian influencer Mange Kimambi following her controversial remarks about Iyabo’s daughter, Priscilla Ojo, and the recent wedding celebrations. Kimambi had advised the newlywed couple to “tone down” their affectionate posts on social media during Tanzania’s sensitive electoral period, warning that such content might distract the public.
In response, Iyabo Ojo declared firmly on Instagram, “My daughter will post whatever she wants to post. Nobody will intimidate us.” She went on to say, “I don’t joke with my child. This kind of intimidation is unacceptable.” The actress stressed her daughter’s right to freely share moments from her life, emphasizing that the family would not be silenced.

Addressing rumors that the Tanzanian government sponsored the wedding, Iyabo Ojo was categorical: “The wedding was done in line with Nigerian cultural traditions. It was funded by our family and close associates. No government, Tanzanian or Nigerian, contributed to it.” She noted that a grand reception was held in Nigeria following the ceremony in Tanzania, reaffirming that the event was a private family affair.
On the allegation that Priscilla’s social media activity could disrupt Tanzanian elections, Iyabo Ojo stated, “My daughter’s in-laws are peaceful people. We respect Tanzania and its processes, but no one has the right to police how we celebrate family milestones.” She expressed disappointment at what she saw as unnecessary intrusion into personal matters.
The actress concluded by underscoring her role as an outspoken advocate for her family and children, saying, “True leadership demands courage and standing up for what you believe in. I will always protect and support my children, no matter the pressure.” Iyabo Ojo’s statement has since garnered widespread support from fans and fellow celebrities, who commend her for defending her family’s privacy and dignity.
