The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced the recovery of over ₦566.3 billion, $411.5 million, and 1,502 real estate assets between October 2023 and September 2025. EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja marking his second anniversary in office.
Olukoyede highlighted that the agency received over 19,000 petitions, investigated 29,240 cases, filed 10,525 cases in court, and secured 7,503 convictions during the two-year period. He emphasized that part of the recovered funds—about ₦100 billion—has been invested in the Students’ Loan Scheme and the Consumer Credit Scheme to support President Bola Tinubu’s economic reformsVanguard.
The EFCC also revived dormant cases involving high-profile individuals, including former governors, ministers, and ex-CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele.
