Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke, a 15-year-old Nigerian artist living with autism, has achieved a historic milestone by setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest painting on canvas. His masterpiece, titled “Impossible is a Myth,” spans a staggering 12,303.87 square meters—more than twice the size of a football field. The monumental work was unveiled at Eagle Square in Abuja on April 2, 2025, in celebration of World Autism Awareness Day.
The unveiling attracted widespread attention and admiration, with dignitaries such as Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, in attendance. She hailed the achievement as a “historic and inspiring milestone,” emphasizing that age or neurological differences are no barrier to creativity or greatness. The event not only spotlighted Kanyeyachukwu’s talent but also served as a platform to promote inclusivity and raise awareness about autism.
Kanyeyachukwu’s father, Tagbo Okeke, shared insights into his son’s journey, revealing that Kanyeyachukwu’s love for colors and a consistent daily structure played a critical role in developing his artistic abilities. He said the project’s theme reflects the family’s shared belief in breaking barriers and challenging societal limitations, particularly those often associated with neurodivergent individuals.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also celebrated the young artist’s accomplishment, stating, “You said, ‘Impossibility is a myth,’ and you proved it.” Kanyeyachukwu’s record-setting achievement stands not only as a testament to his personal determination and vision but also as an inspiration to others—showing that brilliance knows no bounds when given the right support and opportunity.
