Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, has called on President Bola Tinubu to present a compelling 30-year vision for Nigeria’s future. Speaking on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise’ programme, Adeyemi emphasized the importance of visionary leadership in inspiring and guiding the nation’s youth.
Adeyemi stated, “Mr. President needs to come with pictures, 3D of what Nigeria will be like in 30 years’ time.” He believes that providing a clear and detailed vision of the country’s future will motivate young Nigerians and align their efforts towards national development.
Highlighting the significance of mindset transformation, Adeyemi noted that sustainable change is unattainable without altering people’s beliefs and attitudes. He recounted a conversation with a former governor who identified mindset, rather than infrastructure, as the primary challenge in governance. The governor expressed frustration that even some cabinet members failed to grasp the importance of visionary leadership, focusing instead on immediate personal gains.
Adeyemi’s remarks come ahead of the National Youth Conference scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. He urged President Tinubu to use the platform to articulate a transformative vision that would shift mindsets and foster a culture of long-term planning and development among Nigerians.
In conclusion, Adeyemi asserted that the dynamics of leadership must evolve to address Nigeria’s challenges effectively. He emphasized that without a compelling vision and a shift in collective mindset, efforts towards national progress may remain unfulfilled.
