The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has temporarily suspended access to the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) result-checking portal following the discovery of technical glitches during an internal review. The affected subjects include Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics, where a new security innovation—paper serialization—was applied.
WAEC’s Acting Head of Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina, expressed deep regret over the inconvenience and assured that a swift and transparent correction process is underway. Candidates who have already checked their results are advised to revisit the portal in 24 hours for accurate scores.
Meanwhile, the Federal Ministry of Education confirmed that the issue has been resolved and that updated results will be accessible via the portal by Friday, August 8, 2025. The glitch stemmed from the post-processing of paper serialization used to combat exam malpractice.
