President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended the tenure of Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) until December 31, 2026. This decision came as part of efforts to support the NIS in fulfilling its strategic objectives. Mrs. Nandap, who assumed the role in March 2024, will continue her leadership to drive reforms in the country’s immigration system.

Mrs. Nandap’s tenure extension follows her outstanding contributions to the NIS, including her leadership in modernizing immigration processes and improving border management. Her focus on national security and the enhancement of immigration services has played a key role in strengthening Nigeria’s territorial integrity. With the extension, Nandap is expected to build on the progress she has already made in these areas.

In her brief time as the head of the NIS, Mrs. Nandap has been instrumental in aligning the organization’s strategies with the broader goals of the administration, especially in relation to the Renewed Hope Agenda. Her leadership has been recognized for its commitment to streamlining immigration procedures and ensuring that Nigeria’s borders remain secure and orderly.

President Tinubu has expressed his full support for Mrs. Nandap’s continued leadership, emphasizing the importance of protecting the nation’s borders and ensuring safe, legal, and orderly migration.
