Popular Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has addressed longstanding public speculation about his personal life, particularly the assumption that he is a womaniser. In a recent appearance on The Culture League podcast alongside footballer Victor Boniface and comedian Bovi, the 38-year-old actor firmly denied being romantically involved with multiple women. He stated that his demanding career in Nollywood leaves him with neither the time nor the energy to pursue such a lifestyle.
Timini explained that the nature of his work often requires him to be on set until late at night, making it difficult to maintain even one relationship, let alone several. “Nollywood has taken over my life,” he said. “I even wonder how some of my friends who womanise do it—dating four or five girls at the same time. I don’t have the capacity for that.” According to the actor, he has been “technically single” for the past two to three years, focusing entirely on his career.
Despite his reputation for playing the “bad boy” in films and on social media, Timini insists that much of it is just perception. He acknowledged that he may find the stereotype entertaining at times, but it does not reflect his real-life values or choices. “I think people get carried away by what they see online. That doesn’t mean it’s who I am,” he said.
Timini also shared his philosophy on dating and relationships, stating that he doesn’t chase women and believes in being authentic and staying grounded. Rather than seeking multiple partners, he prioritises self-awareness and meaningful connections. With his career in full swing and his name among Nollywood’s most recognisable faces, the actor seems content with where he is—single, focused, and misunderstood
