Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on young men and women across the state to take advantage of the ongoing recruitment into the Nigerian Army. He emphasized that modern military service offers diverse career opportunities beyond traditional combat roles, including fields such as law, medicine, engineering, and aeronautics.

Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, during a stakeholder engagement at the palace of the Olofin of Isheri Olofin, the governor highlighted the evolving nature of military careers. He noted that today’s army integrates technology, education, and career development, making it an appealing option for youths seeking personal and professional growth.

The engagement brought together parents, youths, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and artisans to broaden awareness about the benefits of a military career and to dispel lingering misconceptions. Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting qualified applicants from Lagos in their journey toward a fulfilling military career.

Registration for the 89 Regular Recruits Intake, which includes both tradesmen and non-tradesmen and women, is scheduled to close on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply before the deadline.

The governor’s appeal aligns with his administration’s THEMES+ agenda, focusing on youth empowerment, education, and security. By encouraging enlistment, the state aims to provide youths with structured career paths while contributing to national development.
