Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has officially welcomed Nigerian billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote as both parties signed a landmark global partnership agreement covering energy, cement, fertiliser, and infrastructure development.
The deal, signed in Harare, is expected to strengthen Zimbabwe’s industrial base while expanding Dangote Group’s footprint across Southern Africa. According to government officials, the agreement will facilitate large-scale investments in power generation, cement production, fertiliser supply, and critical infrastructure projects aimed at boosting Zimbabwe’s economic growth.
President Mnangagwa described the partnership as a “historic step” toward transforming Zimbabwe’s economy and deepening Africa-to-Africa investment ties. Dangote, in his remarks, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting sustainable development across the continent, noting that the projects will create jobs and enhance regional trade.
