The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of popular skitmaker, Raji Samad Adetola, widely known as Sanku. The fast-rising content creator lost his life in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025, after being involved in a fatal road crash along the Oyo–Ogbomoso highway in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle Sanku was travelling in veered off the road and crashed into a ditch. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was confirmed dead a few hours later. Reports indicate that several other passengers in the car also lost their lives in the ghastly accident.
Sanku, who began his content creation journey in 2021, rose to fame in 2024 with his unique comedic style and relatable skits that quickly won him thousands of fans across social media platforms. His sudden death has left colleagues, fans, and fellow entertainers in shock, with many paying tribute to his creativity and the laughter he brought to millions.
In one of his last posts before the accident, the young comedian shared a heartfelt message praying never to lose one’s life at the point of enjoying the fruits of hard work, a clip that has since gone viral and deepened the grief of his followers.
