In a groundbreaking achievement, Nigerian model Samuel Nwajaju has become the first African to win the prestigious Mister International pageant. The 16th edition of the pageant took place in Bangkok, Thailand, and saw Nwajaju emerge victorious among 47 contestants, the highest number in the pageant’s history.
Established in 2006, the Mister International pageant is one of the world’s largest male beauty pageants, second only to Mister World. This year marked a significant change as the pageant allowed fathers, married, and divorced men to compete for the first time.
Nwajaju, a 23-year-old model and University of Port Harcourt undergraduate, also won the Best Swimwear category. He secured his place in the competition by winning the Mister of Nigeria 2024 title in June. His victory is not only a personal triumph but also a significant milestone for African representation in global beauty pageants.
Winners of the Mister International competition enjoy various forms of recognition, including sponsorships, endorsements, and opportunities to collaborate with global brands and organizations. Additionally, the titleholder participates in charitable and promotional events worldwide during their reign.
Nwajaju’s win is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and the growing influence of African talent on the global stage.
