Multichoice Nigeria has officially opened auditions for the highly anticipated 10th season of Nigerian Idol. This year’s edition, tagged “Your Voice, Your Victory,” is set to discover and celebrate the incredible musical talents across the nation. The auditions, which started on January 17, will run until February 2, 2025.
Busola Tejumola, the MultiChoice executive head for content and West Africa channels, emphasized the essence of the show, stating, “Nigerian Idol is not just about discovering talent; it’s about giving everyday Nigerians the chance to share their voice and inspire others.” Over the past decade, the show has touched lives, built careers, and entertained audiences across Africa. Interested contestants are required to upload a 30-second video of themselves singing any song of their choice on the official website. Previous contestants who did not make it to the live show are also encouraged to audition. However, contestants must have no existing recording or talent management contracts. The winner of the ninth edition, Chima Udoye, received a grand prize of N30 million, a brand-new SUV, a record deal, and a video shoot. This year’s winner can expect similar life-changing rewards, along with the opportunity to kickstart a successful music career.
