The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has officially launched its student loan application portal for the 2025/2026 academic session, offering financial support to students across accredited tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The portal will be open from Thursday, October 23, 2025, to Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Eligible applicants include both newly admitted and returning students. According to NELFUND’s Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, students can apply using their Admission Number or JAMB Registration Number in place of a matriculation number to facilitate a seamless process.
Institutions have been urged to upload verified student records on the NELFUND Student Verification Portal to ensure smooth processing. The initiative is part of the federal government’s broader effort to increase access to higher education and reduce financial barriers for Nigerian students.
