The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has officially declared Nigerian entertainer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, wanted. The announcement, made on June 27, 2025, follows allegations of rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking leveled against the controversial musician. The agency called on the public to assist with credible information regarding his whereabouts, emphasizing its commitment to bringing him to justice.

The case gained traction after Speed Darlington made disturbing claims during a live Instagram session, where he allegedly confessed to having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl. The video triggered public outrage and led to a formal investigation by NAPTIP. He was subsequently invited for questioning but failed to appear on two separate occasions — May 30 and June 2 — despite receiving official summons.

In response to the allegations, Speed Darlington later claimed that the video was staged as a publicity stunt to promote his music, referring to it as a mere prank. However, NAPTIP dismissed the excuse, maintaining that such statements cannot be taken lightly, especially when they involve potential abuse of a minor. The agency stressed that the entertainer’s actions, whether real or fabricated, have serious legal consequences under Nigerian law.

NAPTIP further disclosed that it is working closely with other law enforcement bodies to track down and arrest Speed Darlington. The agency has also taken steps to prevent his possible escape from the country. As the investigation deepens, public attention remains focused on the case, with many calling for accountability and swift justice.
