Mr Eazi described his mother as a pillar of love, discipline, and faith. In his eulogy, he shared how she inspired his confidence, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit. Her unwavering belief in him, even during his moments of self-doubt, shaped his journey as both an artist and a man.

Guests at the funeral included prominent personalities such as billionaire Femi Otedola, his wife Nana Otedola, and fellow artist Tekno, among others. The event was a testament to the profound impact Mrs. Ajibade had on her family and the community.

“I wish you were still here, holding us together,” Mr Eazi expressed with profound grief. His words underscored the irreplaceable void left by her absence, yet they also highlighted his determination to honor her legacy through his actions and achievements.

He spoke about how her unwavering belief in him shaped his life and career.

“Life feels cold, distant, and incomplete without you,” he continued. “I know people say you’re in a better place, but selfishly, I wish you were still here, holding us together, guiding us, loving us as only you could.”

The tribute also noted the role his mother played in his life, comforting him in his fears and always seeing greatness in him, even when he could not see it in himself.

“Mummy, you carried my burdens, corrected me with love, comforted me in my fears, and always saw greatness in me,” he added.

“I vow to live in a way that honours your dreams for me, to become the man you always believed I could be.”

Mr Eazi concluded his tribute with a promise to honour his mother’s love and memory, saying, “Thank you for loving me unconditionally. Thank you for standing by me. Thank you for being my mother.

“I love you. I miss you. And until we meet again, I will carry your love with me forever.”
