‘Grandpa Robbers’ Accused in Kim Kardashian Jewel Heist to Stand Trial in Paris.

Nearly eight years after Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in a luxury Paris residence, a group of aging suspects dubbed the “grandpa robbers” are finally set to face trial. The case, which shook the celebrity world in 2016, is one of the most high-profile jewel heists of the decade, involving an estimated $10 million worth of stolen items.

The accused, most of whom are in their 60s and 70s, allegedly carried out the robbery with military precision, posing as police officers to gain access to Kardashian’s private apartment during Paris Fashion Week. Once inside, they reportedly bound and gagged the reality star, holding her at gunpoint before escaping with a haul that included a 20-carat diamond ring and other luxury items.

French police launched a major investigation following the incident, eventually arresting 12 suspects. Among them is Aomar Ait Khedache, believed to be the ringleader, who later admitted in a written confession to orchestrating the heist. The suspects were linked to the crime through DNA evidence and surveillance footage.

The upcoming trial in Paris will focus on charges including armed robbery, kidnapping, and criminal conspiracy. Legal experts say the advanced age of the defendants may complicate sentencing, but the serious nature of the crime ensures the trial will be closely watched. The case also highlights concerns about celebrity security and the risks of flaunting wealth on social media.

Kardashian, who has since spoken publicly about the trauma she experienced, is not expected to attend the trial but may provide testimony through written statements. The outcome could bring long-awaited closure to an incident that had global media riveted and significantly changed how the star approaches her personal safety.
