The MTN CHAMPS Benin Athletics Classics, part of Season 3 of the MTN CHAMPS series, saw junior athletes deliver remarkable performances, further solidifying the competition’s role in unearthing and nurturing young Nigerian talent. The event, which took place from March 13 to 15, 2025, in Benin City, attracted top young athletes competing across various track and field events.

One of the standout performances came from Miracle Sonny, who put on an impressive show in the 400m heats, clocking a personal best time of 54.92 seconds. Her performance was a testament to her hard work and determination, as she improved on her previous times and established herself as one of the rising stars to watch in Nigerian athletics. The race was highly competitive, but Sonny’s disciplined approach and strong finishing kick helped her secure the victory.

Another young star, Victoria Olaniyi, also made headlines by winning Heat 2 of the 400m, setting her own personal best of 55.62 seconds. Olaniyi’s performance was equally impressive, showcasing her speed, endurance, and tactical racing ability.
