In a recent interview, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke emphasized that his elder brother, Dr. Deji Adeleke, who funded his election campaign, has never sought any financial reimbursement or government contracts in return. Instead, Dr. Adeleke consistently reminds the governor of his commitment to deliver good governance and the dividends of democracy to the people of Osun State. He has even cautioned that if the governor deviates from this path, he would publicly denounce him.

Governor Adeleke also addressed allegations of nepotism, clarifying that his appointments are not dominated by individuals from his hometown, Ede. He noted that among his initial key appointments, only one appointee hails from Ede, and emphasized that people from other regions, such as Ijesa and Osogbo, have significantly benefited from his administration.

Furthermore, the governor highlighted that his administration has been executing projects without incurring additional debt. He attributed this financial prudence to effective management of available resources and the absence of obligations to any political godfathers demanding financial returns. This approach has enabled the government to focus on delivering tangible benefits to the citizens of Osun State.

Governor Adeleke’s statements underscore the supportive role his family, particularly his brother Dr. Deji Adeleke, has played in his political journey, allowing him to govern without external pressures and prioritize the welfare of the people.
