Some months ago, Gisthounds reported that Ellie Bitar, a foreign national linked with CBEX Solutions, had been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged investment fraud. That report was based on the EFCC’s official wanted list at the time.
In a new development, the EFCC has updated its records and clarified that Bitar is no longer on its wanted list. According to the Commission’s statement, his name has been removed as the agency continues its search for other individuals linked to ongoing investigations.
The EFCC emphasized that while Bitar’s name has been cleared, its manhunt for other wanted persons is ongoing. The Commission listed eight individuals: Onyekachi Onovo, Aigbe Osasu, Pascal Udeh, Okoh Henry Onyeka, Michael Achile Umoh, Mohammed Auwal Adamu, Ojo Oluwatobi, and Paschal Udeh, urging members of the public to provide useful information on their whereabouts. This underscores the EFCC’s continued efforts to combat financial crimes across the country.
This correction reflects the most recent information released by the EFCC and replaces earlier reports based on its previous wanted list.
