Dangote Refinery Initiates Refunds for Customers Overcharged by Partner Stations.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has announced a refund initiative for customers who purchased Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at prices exceeding the advertised rates from its partner filling stations, including AP (Ardova Plc), Heyden, and MRS. This move follows the refinery’s recent reduction of its ex-depot price from ₦890 to ₦825 per litre, effective February 27, 2025.

To ensure that Nigerians benefit directly from this price reduction, Dangote Refinery has committed to refunding ₦65 per litre on over 200,000 metric tonnes of PMS purchased by marketers at the previous rate of ₦890 per litre. This initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to stimulate the economy and alleviate financial burdens on citizens.

The refinery has condemned any exploitation of the new pricing structure, stating that it is unpatriotic and detrimental for any party to purchase at ₦825 per litre and sell to consumers at ₦945 or more per litre. Such practices constitute excessive profiteering, further burdening Nigerians for personal gain.

Customers who have been overcharged are encouraged to report to Dangote Refinery with their receipts for a full refund of the excess amount paid. The approved pump prices per litre at partner stations are as follows:

• MRS: ₦860 in Lagos, ₦870 in the South-West, ₦880 in the North, and ₦890 in the South-South and South-East.

• Heyden and AP (Ardova Plc): ₦865 in Lagos, ₦875 in the South-West, ₦885 in the North, and ₦895 in the South-South and South-East.

This refund initiative underscores Dangote Refinery’s commitment to fair pricing and consumer protection in Nigeria’s petroleum market.
