R&B superstar Chris Brown has been arrested in the UK in connection with an alleged assault on a music producer at a London nightclub in 2023. The 36-year-old singer was detained by Metropolitan police officers in the early hours of Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Manchester’s Lowry Hotel, where he was staying after arriving in the UK via private jet.
Brown was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, linked to an incident at Tape nightclub in Mayfair’s Hanover Square on February 19, 2023.
The alleged victim, music producer Abraham Diaw, claims Brown attacked him with a bottle, hitting him two or three times and causing his knee to collapse. Diaw has since filed a civil lawsuit against Brown, seeking $16 million (£12 million) in damages for injuries and losses.
Brown remains in custody as the investigation continues.
