A wedding in Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State turned tragic when the bride allegedly poisoned the food served at the reception. This act resulted in the groom becoming critically ill and led to the death of one of his friends.
The Jigawa State Police Command has confirmed the incident. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Shi’isu Adam, both the bride and another female suspect have been arrested and are currently in custody. They are being interrogated by the Criminal Investigation Department to uncover the motive behind the alleged poisoning.
Reports indicate that several guests who consumed the tainted food were hospitalized. While most have been discharged, the groom remains in critical condition, and unfortunately, one of his friends succumbed to the effects of the poison during treatment.
