The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has resumed the disbursement of arrears to corps members, marking the first payment since June 3. This follows a two-month pause that left many corps members and recent graduates uncertain about the status of their allowances.
The resumed payments cover arrears from July 2024 to March 2025, aligning with the newly approved ₦77,000 monthly allowance. Both serving corps members and those who have completed their service year are eligible for the disbursement. NYSC officials confirmed that all beneficiaries will be paid, assuring the public that the necessary bank details are already in their system.
This development comes amid growing calls for financial relief and improved welfare for Nigerian youth. The resumed payments are seen as a positive step toward fulfilling government commitments and easing economic pressure on young Nigerians.
Corps members are advised to monitor their bank accounts and contact NYSC or their financial institutions if they experience delays.
