Dangote Industries Limited has officially denied any connection to the truck involved in a tragic accident that occurred on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, along the Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway. The crash, which claimed multiple lives, involved a Howo truck loaded with cement and a Toyota Corolla.
Despite the truck bearing markings associated with the Dangote brand, investigations by the Enugu State Police Command revealed that the vehicle was registered to Visco Investment Global Limited—a third-party operator not affiliated with Dangote Group.
In a statement, Dangote Industries expressed deep condolences to the victims and their families, while condemning the spread of misinformation falsely linking the company to the incident. The company also pledged to intensify efforts to prevent unauthorized use of its logo and brand identity on vehicles outside its fleet.
Authorities confirmed that two separate crashes occurred that day, resulting in ten fatalities and several injuries. The second incident involved a Sino truck from Global Investment and a tricycle, further compounding the tragedy.
This development comes amid growing public scrutiny over heavy-duty trucks branded with Dangote’s logo, with calls for stricter regulation and accountability.
