Another Anti-Iyabo Ojo Protester Arrested Amid Mohbad Death Fallout.

Another protester targeting actress Iyabo Ojo has been arrested, marking a new development in the ongoing fallout surrounding the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad. The protester, whose identity has not yet been officially released, is believed to be part of a group that publicly criticized Iyabo Ojo for her outspoken activism in the #JusticeForMohbad campaign. This arrest follows earlier warnings from authorities regarding defamation, cyberbullying, and public incitement.

Iyabo Ojo has remained one of the most vocal celebrities demanding a thorough investigation into Mohbad’s mysterious death. Since his passing in September 2023, she has led peaceful protests and used her platform to urge police transparency. However, her activism has also made her a target of online abuse and conspiracy theories. In one viral incident, protesters paraded a coffin with her name written on it—a move she condemned as both threatening and defamatory.

Police have responded to such incidents with increased scrutiny of individuals accused of online harassment or public defamation. Earlier this month, Iyabo Ojo was invited by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre for questioning over counter-petitions filed by others. She later clarified that while she was calling for accountability, she had never directly accused any individual of killing Mohbad. Her critics, however, continue to claim that her actions were inflammatory.

The arrest of yet another protester signals a firm stance by law enforcement against intimidation and public incitement, particularly when it targets figures involved in advocacy. As investigations into Mohbad’s death and the related controversies continue, public attention remains sharply focused on how justice is pursued—and on the broader tensions playing out between celebrities, fans, and online agitators.
