18-year-old boy ‘impregnates 10 girls in five months’ in Anambra

An 18-year-old boy in Anambra State has become the center of controversy after reportedly impregnating ten girls in just five months. The shocking revelation has sparked widespread concern, with many questioning the underlying factors behind the situation.

The case was brought to public attention by Ify Obinabo, the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, who disclosed that the teenager initially worked as an apprentice. During his apprenticeship, he allegedly impregnated his boss’s daughter and a salesgirl, leading to his dismissal. After returning to his village, he reportedly impregnated eight more girls within three months.

The commissioner, overwhelmed by the unusual nature of the case, has appealed to the public for advice, even questioning whether the situation could have spiritual implications. “This matter is beyond me, the reason I want the public to help me come up with a solution. Is it spiritual?” she asked.

When questioned about his actions, the teenager claimed his approach was simple—he told the girls he loved them and promised to marry them once he became wealthy. His mother, distressed by the situation, reported the matter to the commissioner’s office, seeking intervention.

The case has ignited discussions on teenage responsibility, parental guidance, and sex education in Nigeria. Many argue that beyond the scandal, the incident highlights deeper societal issues, including the need for better awareness and support systems for young people.

As the debate continues, authorities and social welfare organizations are exploring ways to address the situation, ensuring that all affected individuals receive the necessary support.
