Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has finally broken her silence on her long-running rift with fellow singer Seyi Shay, following the latter’s recent claims about the origin of their fallout.
Seyi Shay had recently revealed in an interview that their feud was rooted in an alleged affair between her former personal assistant and Tiwa Savage’s ex-husband, Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Teebillz. The “Right Now” crooner explained that she only learned about the incident years later, insisting that she had no prior knowledge of it.
Reacting to the revelation, Tiwa Savage admitted that the issue had been a painful chapter in her life, describing it as a “deep betrayal that affected both friendship and trust.” She noted that she initially chose silence to protect her peace, but said it was necessary to speak up now to set the record straight.
According to Tiwa, while she had moved on from the confrontation that went viral in 2021, hearing new claims about the incident “reopened old wounds.” She emphasized that she holds no grudge against Seyi Shay and wishes her the best in her personal and professional life.
The feud between the two singers, which first came to light after a heated altercation at a salon in Lekki, Lagos, had drawn massive public attention. Despite attempts at reconciliation, both stars had maintained a distant relationship until recent interviews revived public interest in their strained history.
