Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has sparked a debate in Nigeria by suggesting she might be more talented than the country’s top three musicians: Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
Known as Nigeria’s “Big 3,” these artists have dominated the scene, though recent conversations have hinted at adding a fourth, with names like Tiwa, Rema, and Asake often brought up.
In an interview with The Beat 99.9 FM, Tiwa confidently addressed her place among the elite when asked if she belonged to this group. “Talent for talent, mic for mic, I am the big 1,” she declared. She argued that if rankings were based purely on musical skill rather than streaming metrics, she’d come out on top. “If you take away the numbers and other metrics, you can’t touch me on the mic,” she added.
While current rankings might favor chart success, Tiwa maintains that her artistry speaks louder than the numbers.
