Vice President Kashim Shettima has emphasized that President Bola Tinubu’s budgeting approach is focused on economic transformation rather than mere survival. Speaking at the 15th Mechanical Engineering Distinguished Lecture in Abuja, Shettima highlighted the importance of strategic financial planning to ensure sustainable growth.
He compared budgeting to engineering, stating that just as every bolt and nut in a machine must align, every dime in the budget must be accounted for. He stressed that the administration is institutionalizing a results-driven approach, ensuring that financial planning is logical, strategic, and calibrated for long-term impact.
Shettima reiterated that the government is not just budgeting for survival, but rather for productivity, sustainability, and progress.
