President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced key appointments in Nigeria’s education sector, aiming to strengthen the nation’s educational framework.

Dr. Mohammed Aminu Appointed as NABTEB Registrar

Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Aminu has been appointed as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB). He holds a Ph.D. in Automobile Technology and a Master’s in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, with 28 years of experience in teaching, administration, research, and policy development. Before his appointment, he served as the Director of Procurement at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI). Dr. Aminu is expected to provide transformational leadership at NABTEB, focusing on improving the certification of skilled human resources essential for Nigeria’s industrial growth.

Idris Olorunnimbe Named UBEC Board Chairman

In addition, President Tinubu appointed Idris Olorunnimbe as the Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Board. Olorunnimbe, known for his contributions to youth empowerment and education, is the Group CEO of The Temple Company, which he founded in 2016. His leadership is expected to bring innovative strategies to Nigeria’s basic education system.

New Deputy Executive Secretaries for UBEC

Further appointments include Rasaq Olajuwon as UBEC’s Deputy Executive Secretary (Technical) and Tunde Ajibulu as Deputy Executive Secretary (Services). These appointments align with the administration’s efforts to strengthen human capital and enhance service delivery within the education sector.

These strategic decisions reflect the government’s commitment to improving the quality of education in Nigeria by appointing experienced professionals to lead key educational institutions.
