The Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Taiwo Oyedele, has announced that every individual is required to file their tax returns by March 31.
Oyedele emphasized that the directive is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s tax system, improve compliance, and ensure fairness in fiscal policy. He noted that filing returns on time will help the government broaden its revenue base while promoting transparency and accountability.
The committee has urged citizens to take advantage of digital platforms provided by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to ease the filing process and avoid penalties for late submission.
