A student pilot from the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) was rushed to an unnamed hospital in Zaria, Kaduna State, following an aircraft incident on Wednesday. The trainee aircraft, belonging to NCAT, skidded off the runway during landing. While the aircraft sustained no substantial damage, the student pilot was taken to the hospital for a routine medical check.
The spokesperson for NCAT, Jude Amadi, confirmed the incident and stated that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) accident investigation unit had been notified and would take over the scene of the incident. Amadi clarified that the student pilot was not hospitalized but underwent a routine medical check as a precautionary measure.
The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection of the NCAA, Michael Achimugu, also confirmed the incident, describing it as a minor occurrence. He emphasized that it was not a crash but merely an aircraft skidding off the runway
