As the holy month of Ramadan begins, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has donated 100 tons of dates to Nigeria, aiming to support vulnerable families during this significant period. The distribution plan allocates 50 tons to Abuja and another 50 tons to Kano and other northern states.
The Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria, Faisal bin Ibrahim Al-Ghamdi, emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to humanitarian aid and Islamic solidarity during the handover ceremony in Abuja. He expressed gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their unwavering support to Muslims and underserved communities worldwide.
In Kano, Governor Abba Yusuf, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Faruk Ibrahim, received the consignment and expressed appreciation for the Kingdom’s continuous support. He noted that such gestures strengthen the longstanding relations between Kano State and Saudi Arabia.
The distribution of dates is facilitated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in collaboration with local authorities and humanitarian organizations, to ensure that the aid reaches the most vulnerable families in various regions of Nigeria.
