Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commissioned a network of newly constructed roads in Somolu and Kosofe Local Government Areas to improve connectivity and ease traffic congestion in the Lagos Mainland area. The road projects were unveiled during a visit by the governor as part of his administration’s efforts to deliver infrastructural development across the state.
The newly constructed roads, which span several communities within the two local government areas, aim to improve the standard of living for residents and enhance economic activities. The governor highlighted that the roads will ease movement, reduce travel time, and improve access to key business hubs and residential areas in the Lagos Mainland.
Speaking during the unveiling, Sanwo-Olu reiterated his commitment to delivering on his administration’s THEME+ Agenda, particularly in the areas of transportation and infrastructure development. He noted that the projects are part of ongoing road rehabilitation efforts to ensure that all parts of Lagos State benefit from improved infrastructure.
Residents of Somolu and Kosofe expressed their appreciation for the newly completed roads, which they say will bring relief from years of poor road conditions and flooding during the rainy season. Community leaders also acknowledged the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises and urged the governor to continue with similar projects in other areas.
Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed that his administration will continue to invest in road construction and maintenance to reduce traffic bottlenecks and improve transportation across the state. He added that more road projects are in the pipeline to address Lagos’s growing infrastructural needs.
