The Presidential Tax Reforms Committee has unveiled a new award initiative to recognize journalists and digital influencers who demonstrate excellence in reporting on Nigeria’s fiscal reforms. The announcement was made on October 29, 2025, as part of efforts to promote transparency, public awareness, and responsible media engagement in the country’s evolving tax landscape.
The award will honor individuals whose work reflects accuracy, impact, and clarity in communicating complex tax policies and reforms to the public. It aims to encourage more informed discourse around taxation, revenue generation, and economic development.
Chairman of the Committee, Taiwo Oyedele, emphasized that the media plays a critical role in shaping public understanding and trust in government initiatives. He noted that the award will be an annual event, with categories spanning print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
