Vice President Kashim Shettima has reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to advancing girl-child education across Nigeria. Speaking during a youth advocacy event in Abuja on October 21, 2025, Shettima emphasized that the administration views education as a cornerstone for national development and gender equity.
“President Bola Tinubu is deeply committed to ensuring that every Nigerian girl has access to quality education,” Shettima stated.
The Vice President’s remarks came in response to a symbolic leadership initiative where Nigerian teenager Joy Ogah took over his seat for a day to advocate for girls’ rights and education. The event highlighted the importance of youth participation in governance and the urgent need to address barriers facing girls in education.
Shettima assured stakeholders that the government is working to eliminate child marriage, improve school infrastructure, and expand scholarship opportunities for girls, especially in underserved regions.
