Popular Nigerian content creator and influencer, Peller, has publicly called out the Headies organizers for backing out of a deal to stream the 2025 Headies Awards. During a livestream on April 27, Peller expressed his frustration over the last-minute revocation of his invitation to cover the event.
“I had promoted it everywhere, and now people are mocking me, saying I’m not enough for the Headies,” Peller said, visibly upset. He explained that he had been invited to livestream the event, but the terms were changed unexpectedly, leaving him in the lurch.
Peller also shared his disappointment about not being able to meet celebrities or attend the event as planned, clarifying that he never intended to monetize the livestream. “It’s about letting others achieve their dreams, not just money,” he added.
The influencer went on to declare that he would hold the Headies organizers accountable for his financial loss due to the incident, saying, “Headies has to pay for this! All the money I spent on preparations—they’ll pay me back.”
Known for his massive social media following and livestream audience, Peller’s outburst has sparked further conversation around the Headies’ handling of this year’s event.
