Obasanjo highlighted the need for the federal government to prioritize education funding to ensure its sustainability. He stated, “President Tinubu and the Federal Government must find a means to finance education for its sustainability.” He also called on all levels of government to empower youths to become job creators, thereby addressing unemployment and fostering economic growth.

The former president praised LAUTECH for producing outstanding academics and administrators, noting that both Professor Adeyemi and Professor Ojediran had served as Vice Chancellors of Bells University at different times. He commended their contributions to the education sector and encouraged continued excellence in academic leadership.

In his remarks, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, lauded Obasanjo’s enduring contributions to education and agriculture in Nigeria. He urged Professor Ojediran to leverage his expertise in agricultural engineering to enhance the agricultural sector in Ogbomoso. Oba Olaoye also expressed his commitment to providing suitable land for farming to individuals interested in agriculture within the region.

The event underscored the importance of education and agriculture as pivotal areas for national progress. Obasanjo’s call to action serves as a reminder of the need for strategic investment in education to empower the youth and drive sustainable development in Nigeria.
